Still Standing. Still Reporting. Still Black-Owned.
With your help, we’re carrying forward Ida B. Wells’ legacy in an era of anti-truth and anti-Black policy.
Hi and Happy Friday!
We want to end this week by saying thank you to all our new subscribers, paid subscribers, and donors.
Because of your support, The Black Wall Street Times is still standing despite the continued attack on DEI.
This has been another tough week in America. We’re living under a president who is anti-news, anti-truth, and anti-democracy. And we are already beginning to experience the detriment of his dangerous rhetoric.
Nevertheless, we’re still carrying the torch Ida B. Wells lit—reporting the truth, holding power accountable, and uplifting our community and marginalized communities across the country.

This month, your support helped us train our summer journalism interns Kylah Goff (Langston University) and Sasha Wilson (Grambling State). This is our 7th year hosting our journalism interns in Tulsa. You made their experience all the more enriching.
Your support also helped us cover stories that matter specifically to our community, like:
Tulsa Identifies More Victims in 1921 Massacre Investigation
Tulsa mayor unveils historic $105 million reparations plan for Greenwood
How A Tulsa Mayor Tried to Erase Greenwood After the Massacre
Your support over the past few weeks and months shows your commitment to keeping Black media free and independent, especially in these uncertain political times.
We’re grateful you’re in this fight with us because the more supporters, the more power and truth-telling we get to do!
At BWST, we cover the moments that are reshaping our history and our rights—on paper, in court, at the bedside. When headlines skip the "why this matters" part, we're here to fill it in.
But we don’t do it alone.

I hope some day soon to be able to support you monetarily, but for now I just want to say how much I appreciate your telling the truth about history and events happening now. Many of us struggle to find the truth in the midst of all of the deceptive rhetoric, but I trust The Black Wall Street Times to print the truth. Thank you!
